Posted By Arnold & Itkin LLP || 19-Nov-2012

From falls to burns to crush injuries injuries incurred in industrial work environments are often severe and even deadly. In one terrible example of the danger present in industrial workplaces, several employees working at a plant in Penn Township, Pennsylvania, were recently injured in a workplace explosion The employees were severely burned when liquid salt exploded within the plant. The manufacturing company, located near Pittsburgh, produces roller and ball bearings, seals and bearing housings. It also produces other components used in the machine tool industry.

After the explosion, three workers were taken by helicopter to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center to treat their burns. It is still unclear whether equipment failure, poor maintenance or poor training led to the explosion.
