Madill Plant Explosion Results in 2 Deaths, 1 Injury

On Monday, January 20, an explosion occurred at a steel plant in Madill, Oklahoma. The accident was said to have happened close to 3:30 P.M. Officials have confirmed at least two dead and one injured from the plant explosion. The accident took place at the Mid American Steel & Wire plant in south Madill, located on Smiley Road.

Marshall County Sherriff Ed Kent has been speaking with reporters about the incident, confirming the deaths of only two individuals as of now. No names have been released in association with the fatalities. The injured victim has been taken to the hospital for treatment and will remain there until further notice.

Cause of the Explosion

There is no information yet on what caused the explosion or if any more individuals were killed inside of the plant. Officials are working on the investigation and expect to have more insight on the accident by this evening.
