Berkeley Tool Plant Accident Kills Worker

Posted By Industrial Injury Lawyer || 19-Mar-2012

An industrial worker was killed in an accident last Thursday that took place at a Berkeley metal and tool manufacturing plant. The accident was caused when a metal grinding wheel struck him in the back of the head. Paramedics were immediately called to the scene at about 10:30pm. The accident is currently undergoing investigation by the California Occupational Safety and Health Administration. The equipment as well as the work environment as a whole will be investigated in order to better determine why the worker was put into such a compromising situation.

The company does not appear to have an accident-ridden history. Industrial accidents are commonly caused by unsafe machinery and/ or inadequate working conditions. The employer is responsible for the safety and wellbeing of all employees, so if negligence was found to be the cause of the worker's death, then a wrongful death suit can be filed with the help of an industrial accident lawyer at our firm. If your loved one was killed in an industrial accident, contact an industrial accident attorney at Arnold & Itkin today.
