Arnold & Itkin File Suit in Fatal Accident Case

Posted By Arnold & Itkin || 2-Jul-2015

Personal injury attorneys Kurt Arnold, Caj Boatright, and Cesar Tavares have filed a lawsuit on behalf of a Texas man who was killed at work after falling off a ladder. As an employee of Discount Home Warehouse, the worker was told by his supervisor to disconnect some telephone communication lines from above a house that was scheduled to be demolished. The ladder that was provided for him was non-self-supporting and placed against a light post on unsure footing and without proper support for both rails of the ladder. While climbing, the ladder slipped and the worker fell and struck his head. He was pronounced dead soon after the fall.

The lawsuit was filed on behalf of the worker’s widow and four children. It alleges that the defendant, Discount Home Warehouse, knowingly placed the ladder in an unsafe position without proper support and failed to provide the worker with a safe working environment.

The lawsuit was filed in Dallas County, Texas.
