Houston County Worker Injured in Tanker Rig Explosion

Posted By Arnold & Itkin || 8-Dec-2016

Channel 7 KLTV recently reported on a story involving a Texas Energy worker injured in a sudden explosion. The event took place around 8am Thursday morning in the Austonio area of Houston County, at the Texas Energy plant on State Highway 21 west of Crockett.

According to Sherriff Darrel Bobbitt, the injured man was welding on a tanker rig at the Texas Energy plant when either he set off an explosion or it occurred as a result of other factors. In the wake of the explosion, the worker suffered severe burns and needed to be air lifted by helicopter to a nearby hospital in Galveston.

Both the condition of the worker and the circumstances surrounding the event remain to be determined, and once more information is gathered, Texas Energy is set to release a statement regarding the event. We at Arnold & Itkin can only hope that the injured worker safely recovers from his injuries and the truly responsible party is brought to justice.

Client's portion of total recovery may be subject to Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement claims, Medicare/Medicaid liens or other third-party claims or liens.
