Plant Explosion in Pasadena, TX Early This Morning

Posted By Arnold & Itkin || 5-Mar-2016

Early on March 5, a refinery in Pasadena, TX exploded. As of this blog’s writing, only one person is being reported injured in the incident, though more may be reported as updates come in. The plant is located in the 100 block of Red Bluff Road, at the corner of Federal Road and Crown Street.

Officials report that there is no chemical leakage or release for local residents to be concerned about. However, no cause or inciting incident has been determined, and the plant has yet to report any information about the nature of the explosion.

The plant itself, owned by Pasadena Refining System Inc., has exploded before. In December 2011, the troubled plant caused at least one injury in an industrial accident of a similar nature. OSHA fined the plant owners $14,000 for the incident.
