    At approximately 6 a.m. on Saturday morning, a fire was reported at the crude oil unit of a plant in Torrance, CA. While the flames shot as high as 40 feet in the air, they were beaten within 30 minutes by teams of three dozen firefighters.   • Worker Injured in Oilfield Explosion

    Yesterday afternoon, an oilfield explosion occurred less than 4 miles west of Quinton, OK (about 2 hours east of Oklahoma City). The well, which is owned by Trinity Operating, exploded when a worker was opening the valve on the well head.   • At a 20-inch Phillips 66 pipeline in Paradis, a large explosion occurred on Thursday night. According to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff, there were six workers who were cleaning the pipeline when the fire broke out.
