Two Galveston Workers Killed in Industrial Crane Accident

Posted By Arnold & Itkin || 21-Sep-2017

At 10:45 Wednesday morning, a 911 call went out claiming that two workers were severely harmed in a crane accident. The fatal accident occurred on the marine dock on Pelican Island at T&T Marine Offshore. Police, firefighters, and Galveston County EMS responded to the call.

However, by the time they arrived, two workers were already dead and a third one was injured. Footage taken at the scene found that the crane was “tipped over” and “surrounded by fluids.” City of Galveston spokeswoman Jaree Fontin commented that the incident is under investigation, but “no foul play is suspected.”

The names of the workers are being kept private until the family can be notified. It has been determined that the crane fell over, which is what caused the fatal injuries. Not much else is known yet.

At the time of this writing, reporters are unsure if T&T owned the dock or the crane in the incident.
