Firefighters Battling Inferno at Chemical Plant in SE Houston

Posted By Arnold & Itkin || 6-Apr-2018

Around 5:50 PM this evening, a fire broke out at the TPC Group chemical plant on Park Place Boulevard. The smoke has risen high enough to be seen for miles along Highway 225. Community Awareness Emergency Response sent a message that the fire and smoke are not expected to affect local residents or employees.

Firefighters are currently on the scene. News outlets (and presumably officials) have not learned what caused the fire. Investigation will begin as soon as the fire is under control.

According to their website, the TPC Group provides a "diverse range of quality products" to chemical companies and petroleum producers. TPC Group was in the news just two weeks ago when their Board of Directors voted to expand the company's Crude C4 capacity. It's part of the company's campaign to improve their infrastructure and enhance the reliability of their processes.
